It is only through the work of whistleblowers who illegally enter a premises for the purpose of obtaining footage, that the cruelty within the animal food industry worldwide, such as seen in this Spanish abattoir, can be made known to the public. These industries operate behind closed doors, keeping the dark truth of their methods from becoming public knowledge.
Currently, in Australia, the government is attempting to bring in laws to punish such truth seekers with hefty fines or jail time. Why is the Australian government determined to stop this information from becoming public and, in doing so, support the continuance of such cruelty and suffering? It should not be the people who expose the truth who are punished but instead those who inflict the abuse on vulnerable beings.
