There is no legal requirement to provide any form of shelter even from extremes of weather at farms, saleyards, feedlots or slaughterhouses. This includes the most basic form of shade. Sheep can be seen on days in the high 30s or event low 40s huddled together under one tree or out in the full sun for the whole day. Australia’s weather extremes are brutal and millions of sheep and lambs are at its mercy with no regard shown by those who profit from their lives and deaths.
